2024 Kia Sonet facelift exterior, interior leaked– new features added

Kia launched the Sonet in 2020 and the Korean carmaker is now readying a facelifted model of the same. The updated Sonet is due for a launch in the coming months, possibly in 2024. Ahead of its debut, the facelifted subcompact SUV has been spotted testing on roads on multiple occasions in recent times.

A camouflaged test mule of Sonet was recently caught on cameras which revealed exterior and interior details of the SUV. The prototype clicked is reportedly the top-spec trim in the Tech line and witnesses a few noticeable updates both on its exterior and interior.

2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Updated exterior

The upcoming 2024 Sonet is expected to get exterior updates such as the new Kia front grille flanked by LED headlights with new contouring. The front bumper also seems to be reprofiled. At the sides, things remain the same barring the new 16-inch alloy wheel design. At the rear, Kia appears to have opted for a connected LED taillamp setup giving it a more contemporary look.

2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Updated interiors, features

More than the exteriors, it is the Sonet’s cabin interiors where major updates should take place. While the dashboard layout remains the same, Kia seems to have updated the climate control panel with a redesigned display— the two-row button layout is now a single row with a set of toggles.

More significantly, the cabin of Sonet wears a new dual-tone leatherette upholstery in black and beige shades. The 2024 Sonet is expected to retain features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen, Bose sound system, ventilated seats, electric sunroof and air purifier. It is also expected to gain features like a fully-digital driver’s instrumentation (probably borrowed from the updated Seltos), and a 360-degree parking camera.

Safety package of the facelifted Sonet is expected to be bolstered by the addition of the partial ADAS suite offered in Hyundai Venue. It is expected to include features such as forward-collision warning, forward-collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, high beam assist, leading vehicle departure alert, and driver attention warning. Six airbags could also become a standard fitment.

2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Powertrain options

Kia is likely to offer the 2024 Sonet with the same set of engine options as the current model. This includes 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, a 7-speed DCT automatic, and a 6-speed clutchless manual, depending on the engine.
