Kia registers 48% sales growth in January 2023: Seltos, Sonet, Carens in high demand

Kia India recently announced that it has registered the highest-ever domestic sales of 28,634 units in January 2023. The company recorded a Year-on-Year growth of 48% with 28,634 units compared to 19,319 units in the same period last year.

Kia India also announced that its domestic sales have crossed the 6.5 lakh milestone in four years of business operations in India. In January 2023, the Seltos and Sonet were the two top-selling models of the brand, reporting sales of 10,470 units and 9.261 units, respectively. The Kia Carens recorded 7,900-unit sales, while the Carnival sales stood at 1,003 units. The company also recorded the highest-ever monthly sales of Carens.

"After closing CY2022 on a record high, we have witnessed an encouraging start to CY2023 with sales of 28,634 units in January. It's a constant endeavour for us to keep evolving ourselves to suit the requirements of our new-age customers across segments, says Hardeep Singh Brar – National Head, Sales & Marketing, Kia India.

Furthermore, he added, “We exhibited our technology and design prowess at the recently concluded Auto Expo by showcasing the Kia Concept EV9 and the KA4. We also plan to introduce PBVs this year to offer a hassle-free and varied mobility experience for special services in India."

Kia India has sold around 650,564 units in 42 months, says the official statement. The company’s first model in the Indian market, the Kia Seltos remains the highest sales contributor with 3,52,433 units, followed by Sonet with 2,13,112 units sold. Celebrating its first anniversary, the Kia Carens recorded 70,656-unit sales in the Indian market in less than a year.
