Kia will be hiking prices of the recently updated Seltos and Carens in India from 1 October, 2023. This comes slightly as a surprise since OEMs usually announce benefits and discounts during this period of time, considering the festive season when automobile sales are the maximum.

Kia Seltos price hike

The Korean carmaker introduced the facelifted Seltos earlier in July this year at introductory prices starting at Rs 10.89 lakh and going up to Rs 19.80 lakh. The automaker also introduced two new ADAS-equipped variants – GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S), at Rs. 19.40 lakh and Rs. 19.60 lakh, respectively (all prices, ex-showroom).

The company is expected to increase prices of the mid-size SUV by 2 percent across all variants. Revision in prices isn’t likely to bring a change in specs or features. The latest avatar of Seltos comes equipped with three engine options – a 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The transmission options include a six-speed manual, CVT, iMT, automatic torque converter, and a seven-speed DCT gearbox.

Kia Carens price hike

Besides Seltos, Kia is also expected to increase prices of its three-row sibling Carens too. The MPV is likely to see a price hike of 5% across all its variants. Depending on the variant, the price hike could be in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000. Currently, Carens is priced between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 18.95 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

Carens is available in six broad trims— Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O) and Luxury Plus— in both six- and seven-seat layouts. It is available with the same three engine options as Seltos with the same outputs and transmission options. Carens competes against the likes of Maurit Ertiga, XL6, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
